vintage Cyclops.(one of 2 of my treasured toys)

back when i was 6. my father took me to a toy shop at Shangri-la mall in mandaluyong. ask me what i want for my birthday. then there it was in front of me. waiting to be picked.

a X-Men Cyclops Figure.which during that time the TV series was a hit. every kid from school wanted to be a super hero.mine was to Be Cyclops..cool shades and cool power too.. c'mon who wouldn't like that.laser beam coming out of your eyes?? when someone messes around with you during recess you just have to give him the stare  and BOOM! there goes your bully flying around the corridor!

this was released by Toybiz in 1991. though not the jim lee as seen in the cartoon series but the X-Factor costume (it took me a while to figure out why he was wearing a different costume.).still the fun i had with this toy when i was a kid is unmatchable .

has a cool action feature that when you push the button on his back, his visor lights up. (too bad the battery dried up and there is no way of replacing the batteries).

i just still don't get his accessory. it's supposed to be a cerebro computer unit..

it has problem in standing now, because of the awkward positioning of the thigh-to-hip joint. plus the playing factor also affected to loosen the joints.

a couple of years ago i bought a variant (repainted to match the X-Men uniform) version of him (mint on card). at a toy convention at megamall.. though this one would remain unopened. (for the meantime),,

With Variant Marvel Legends Cyclops (2005)

this 21 year old figure is now well kept.and in a special display base

it was nearly 2 decades ago but still i could remember clearly how i got this toy. probably one of my special  experience buying a toy. which probably one, if not main reason which led me to be a toy collector today..

VINTAGE CYCLOPS,, ONE OF 2 OF MOST TREASURED TOY GIVEN BY MY FATHER.....
