Captain America (1st Avenger) Marvel Select

Made By Diamond Select
From The Movie Captain America The First Avenger
Part of The Marvel Select Series
Released in 2011

The figure as expected with DS is highly detailed but not as articulated as it's Hasbro counterpart. it's joints are really crunchy and the paints used are somehow sticky and easy to chip off, that's why i limited it's poses while taking pictures (same treatment as to any Marvel Select Figures i have).

He comes with his trademark Shield in a glossy metallic finish, somehow like a modern-era cap am shield and in addition with that even the back of the shield is well detailed not with a snap on shield to wrist but a leather detailed handle that fits perfectly in the hand,

A basic pistol that fits perfectly well on his side holster, and a nicely detailed base of the Cosmic Cube control area. That Cosmic Cube base really got me attracted with this figure at first since watching the movie and seeing this as a toy captures the resemblance from the movie.

Side by side with MS Movie Hulk:

This figure unlike the recently released Avengers Movie Hulk figure, doesn't in any way captures the likeness of Chris Evans. somehow DS got lazy sculpting the head. though in fairness to them, the body . costume, cosmic cube base and other points of interest in the toy are really very well detailed.

I prefer this Diamond Select figure over Hasbro's ROML and 6 inch figures, specially with the price range, (Hasbro's much pricier compared to DS). Over all this figure felt like owning an ML Toybiz era-toy, a well sculpted and nicely detailed figure with base. surely you cant go wrong with Marvel Selects a better buy compared to the smaller Hasbro version with no base.
